E-Commerce & Digital Marketplace Specialist
Our client is seeking a commercially driven and detail-oriented E-Commerce & Digital Marketplace Specialist to manage and grow its online sales channels and digital marketplace presence. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimising e-commerce platforms, driving online sales performance, enhancing the customer journey, and ensuring accurate product listings across multiple digital channels. This role requires a proactive individual with strong analytical skills, digital commerce expertise, and a passion for delivering an exceptional online customer experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Manage and maintain all e-commerce platforms and online marketplaces, ensuring they are fully functional, up to date, and commercially optimised
- Oversee product uploads, categorisation, pricing, stock availability, promotional activities, and content accuracy across all digital platforms
- Manage marketplace performance on platforms such as Takealot and other third-party online retailers
- Optimise product listings through effective product descriptions, keywords, SEO, imagery, and enhanced content
- Monitor marketplace rankings, visibility, and sales performance, identifying opportunities to improve online growth
- Maintain and update company-owned e-commerce websites, ensuring they remain user-friendly, mobile responsive, and aligned with brand standards
- Coordinate homepage updates, banners, product launches, promotions, and seasonal campaigns
- Execute digital merchandising strategies to ensure consistent brand presentation across all online platforms
- Support digital marketing campaigns, product launches, promotions, online activations, and clearance initiatives
- Track and analyse online sales, conversion rates, customer behaviour, website traffic, marketplace performance, and campaign return on investment (ROI)Prepare regular performance reports and provide insights to support business decisions and continuous improvement
- Monitor competitor activity, industry trends, and emerging digital commerce opportunities
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Warehouse, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to ensure seamless online operations
- Monitor online inventory levels, support forecasting activities, and minimise stock discrepancies and overselling
- Review customer feedback, online reviews, and service issues, ensuring prompt resolution and continuous improvement of the customer experience
- Identify opportunities to improve digital processes, customer engagement, and long-term e-commerce growth strategies
- 2–3 years' experience in e-commerce, digital marketplace management, or a similar role preferred
- Experience managing online retail platforms and digital marketplaces
- Strong understanding of e-commerce operations, online merchandising, and digital sales optimisation
- Experience with marketplace platforms such as Takealot Seller Portal is advantageous
- Experience using WordPress, WooCommerce, or similar e-commerce platforms is advantageous
- Knowledge of SEO, digital merchandising, and online product optimisation
- Experience with Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, and reporting tools is advantageous
- Experience within sports retail, activewear, consumer goods, or a related retail distribution environment is advantageous
- Strong analytical, commercial, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and reporting
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
