E-commerce Developer
Introduction
An established organisation is seeking a E-commerce Developer to join its team in Newcastle. This role will contribute to software, systems, and digital capability across a growing operational landscape. Duties & Responsibilities
The position requires a balance of technical execution, documentation discipline, and effective collaboration across teams.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain application features, integrations, or internal systems based on approved requirements.
- Contribute to performance optimisation, technical debt reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Translate functional needs into structured technical solutions and participate in design discussions where required.
- Maintain technical documentation, release notes, and relevant implementation records.
- Support testing, defect resolution, release readiness, and production issue analysis.
- Work with analysts, product stakeholders, QA, and support teams to ensure fit-for-purpose delivery.
- Participate in sprint ceremonies, estimation sessions, or project planning activities as applicable.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code aligned to development standards and review practices.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Candidates should be comfortable working with business requirements, technical standards, and practical delivery expectations.
- Relevant diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Development, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience with one or more modern programming languages, frameworks, APIs, databases, or web technologies relevant to the role.
- Exposure to source control, testing practices, release processes, and collaborative development workflows.
- Good working knowledge of documentation standards, structured problem-solving, and stakeholder communication.
- Typically suited to candidates with around 3–6 years relevant experience and the ability to manage core responsibilities independently.
