Depot Manager - FMCG Distribution

Synopsis

An FMCG and food-distribution operation is seeking a Depot Manager to oversee its Empangeni branch. The position is responsible for depot operations, inventory management, logistics coordination, staff supervision and cost control within a busy distribution environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily depot and branch operations.
• Manage inventory and maintain appropriate stock-control standards.
• Coordinate logistics and product movement through the depot.
• Supervise employees and maintain effective operational coverage.
• Monitor operational costs and support budget control.
• Ensure stock is handled and stored according to operational requirements.
• Coordinate depot activities with wider supply-chain stakeholders.
• Monitor branch performance and address operational issues affecting service delivery.

Qualifications / Minimum Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management or Logistics.
• Previous management or supervisory experience within an FMCG environment.
• Experience managing a sizeable operational team.
• Practical inventory-management and logistics-coordination experience.
• Understanding of cost and budget management within depot operations.
