Synopsis

We are looking for a friendly, organised, and reliable Dental Assistant to support the dentist and ensure patients receive a comfortable and efficient experience. You will assist with chairside procedures, prepare treatment areas, sterilise instruments, and help with the smooth day-to-day running of the dental practice.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the dentist during examinations and dental procedures
Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials before appointments
Sterilise and maintain dental instruments and equipment
Assist with taking and processing dental X-rays where appropriately trained
Prepare patients for treatment and provide reassurance throughout their visit
Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation
Assist with stock control and ordering dental supplies
Follow strict infection control, hygiene, and safety procedures
Support the reception team with administrative tasks when required

Qualifications / Minimum Requirements

Matric certificate (minimum requirement)
Relevant Dental Assisting qualification or training is preferred
Previous experience in a dental practice is advantageous
Knowledge of dental instruments, procedures, and infection control practices
Strong communication and patient care skills
Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities
Ability to work well as part of a professional healthcare team
