Role Overview

An experienced Debtors Clerk is required at a seafood importer, exporter, processor, and distributor in Paarden Island near Cape Town. The role manages a key-accounts debtor book of approximately R50 million and is a fixed-term 12-month contract with an option to become permanent.

Responsibilities

Handle the debtor book of approximately R50 million.
Capture journals and bank statements and ensure collections are completed.
Monitor customer accounts for non-payment and resolve queries.
Process customer invoices, portal submissions, claims, and price adjustments.
Manage the full function from invoice to payment.
Complete monthly reconciliations and send customer statements.
File invoices and report significant overdue accounts to the AR Manager weekly.

Requirements

Two or more years' debtors experience in an FMCG or food environment.
Experience with debtor books larger than R50 million and big retail accounts such as Pick n Pay, Shoprite Checkers, or Vector.
SAP experience is advantageous.
Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans.
Matric with Mathematics and Accounting; an accounting qualification is advantageous.
Three to five years' relevant FMCG experience.
Good communication, interpersonal, organisational, time-management, and prioritisation skills.
