Customs Quality Control Specialist - National

Introduction

A leading logistics company in Durban is in search of a Customs Quality Control Specialist – National to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring customs compliance, processing statutory documentation, auditing products against customs requirements, and maintaining quality management standards within a fast-paced import and logistics environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Strong knowledge of Customs and Excise Act
• Knowledge of tariffing and principles of duty calculation
• Understanding of international trade principles and INCO Terms
• Knowledge of commercial, transport, carrier, depot, and statutory body documentation
• Computer literate with strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and perform well under pressure
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Adaptable within a constantly changing environment

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Grade 12 Certificate
• 1-year customs related qualification at NQF Level 3
• 10 years’ import/customs experience within the Clearing & Forwarding industry
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in customs framing entry capacity
• Knowledge of national currencies and international codes
• Experience auditing products against customs and statutory body requirements
• Ability to comply with quality management systems
