Customer Liaison Officer

My client, a well-established manufacturer in the automotive sector, is looking for a proactive and customer-focused Customer Liaison Officer to join their Sales & Marketing team in Bloemfontein (Freestate).

Reporting to the Industrial Business Development Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver professional, efficient, and courteous service to customers via telephone and email.
  • Resolve customer queries promptly, aiming for first-time resolution wherever possible.
  • Process customer orders accurately using SAP while ensuring stock availability and customer credit status.
  • Coordinate closely with Business Representatives, Warehouse, Distribution, and Logistics teams to ensure timely order fulfilment.
  • Keep customers informed regarding order status, delivery schedules, and any delays.
  • Process customer claims, returns, rotations, and check-and-charge transactions in accordance with company procedures.
  • Prepare quotations and respond to ad hoc customer requests.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, calling schedules, and order documentation.
  • Build strong working relationships with both internal departments and external customers.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Assist with cost control by minimising errors, reducing waste, and supporting efficient resource utilisation.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Certificate in Customer Service, Marketing, Exports, or a related qualification (NQF 5).
  • Up to 3 years' customer service or Customer Liaison experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience processing customer orders and handling customer queries.
  • Computer literate with strong MS Office skills.
  • Working knowledge of SAP is essential.
  • Excellent telephone etiquette and professional communication skills.
  • Strong administrative skills with exceptional attention to detail.
