Synopsis

A commercial business is seeking a hands-on Costing Analyst / Bookkeeper to manage the bookkeeping cycle while providing detailed analysis of product procurement costs. The position combines transactional finance with commercial costing and supports pricing, margin and purchasing decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Manage bookkeeping from source-document capture through trial-balance reconciliation.
Analyse the cost of purchased products and raw materials.
Track supplier-price movements and identify cost trends.
Build and maintain product and input costing models.
Calculate landed costs including purchase price, freight, duties and direct costs.
Compare actual procurement costs against budgeted or standard costs.
Investigate cost variances and provide commentary on root causes.
Support pricing, margin and purchasing decisions with accurate financial information.

Qualifications / Minimum Requirements

Practical full-function bookkeeping experience.
Experience performing product, purchasing or procurement cost analysis.
Strong reconciliation and financial-record accuracy.
Ability to analyse cost movements and commercial variances.
Strong spreadsheet and numerical skills.
