Convenience Store Managers
Our well-established client in the fuel retail industry is looking for an experienced and results-driven Convenience Store Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of a busy convenience store. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on retail professional with a passion for customer service, team leadership, and driving sales.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- A tertiary qualification in Retail Management, Business Management or a related field will be advantageous.
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience managing a convenience store, forecourt retail store, supermarket or FMCG retail environment.
- Previous experience in the fuel retail industry will be highly advantageous.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, GP margins and stock control.
- Excellent leadership, communication and people management skills.
- Sound knowledge of merchandising principles and retail operations.
- Computer literacy with experience using retail POS and stock management systems.
- Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport.
- Strong leadership and decision-making ability.
- Customer-focused with a passion for service excellence.
- Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Results-driven with the ability to achieve sales and profitability targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of the convenience store to ensure efficient and profitable performance.
- Lead, motivate and develop a team of supervisors and store staff.
- Drive sales growth through merchandising, promotions and excellent customer service.
- Monitor stock levels, ordering, receiving and stock control to minimise shrinkage and stock losses.
- Ensure accurate cash handling, banking and reconciliation procedures.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, merchandising and store presentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and food safety standards.
- Analyse sales reports and implement strategies to improve store performance.
- Manage staff scheduling, attendance, performance and disciplinary matters.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
- Ensure all operational and administrative reporting is completed accurately and on time.
