CONTRACTS & PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST
Location: Sandton
Contract: 2 Months

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Contracts & Procurement Specialist to lead and execute complex contracting activities across a portfolio of contracts. The successful candidate will be responsible for contract negotiations, administration, performance monitoring, risk management and ensuring value realization throughout the contract lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate complex procurement requirements into effective contract terms and conditions.

  • Lead contract establishment, negotiations, administration and management.

  • Ensure contracts remain compliant and relevant to changing business and regulatory requirements.

  • Identify, assess and manage contractual risks, issues and potential breaches.

  • Monitor contract performance against agreed commercial objectives and supplier commitments.

  • Prepare, negotiate and amend contracts in line with company policies and legal requirements.

  • Maximize on contract spend and identify opportunities to reduce contract management costs.

  • Communicate new and amended contracts to relevant stakeholders.

  • Prepare weekly reports covering contract status, productivity, compliance and amendments.

  • Resolve complex queries relating to contract terms, conditions and processes.

  • Maintain accurate contract databases and registers.

  • Monitor and address supplier performance issues.

  • Ensure end users understand and comply with contractual terms and conditions.

  • Conduct compliance audits and assessments where required.

  • Prepare audit reports and escalate identified risks and triggers appropriately.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Apply effective SHE and risk management practices.

  • Drive continuous improvement and personal development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.

  • 11+ years of relevant experience in contracts, procurement and/or complex contract management.

  • Strong experience in contract negotiation, administration and supplier management.

  • Strong commercial and analytical capabilities.

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.

  • Sound understanding of contractual risk, compliance and governance.

  • Strong report writing, communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work strategically while managing complex contractual matters.

  • Professional certification/membership: Not required.
