Construction Procurement Administrator

Our client based in the southern suburbs requires your excellent administration, planning, coordination and problem-solving skills.

- Matric, additional qualifications advantageous
- Experience in similar role
- Good computer literacy - MS Word, Excel required
- Experience working in construction dealing with procurement and handling various administration and orders
- Must be highly organised, with excellent attention to detail
- Own vehicle
DUTIES
Planning & Coordination
- Plan and coordinate weekly delivery schedules for construction sites, suppliers, and service providers.
- Ensure the timely procurement and delivery of materials ordered.
- Anticipate project needs by understanding construction phases and planning requirements in advance.
- Adapt schedules/logistics plans to accommodate unforeseen changes & emergencies.
- Coordinate collections, deliveries, supplier interactions so no delays happen
- Manage daily operational activities to ensure efficient workflow within the warehouse and across construction sites.
- Allocate and monitor daily tasks for warehouse & support staff, including housekeeping, stock organization, vehicle maintenance, loading and offloading, and tool inspections.
- Conduct daily briefings with drivers to coordinate routes, deliveries, collections etc.
- Maintain accurate records within the warehouse management system
- Capture and monitor material allocations to sites, inventory and project costing.
- Liaise with Project Managers, Foremen, and Storemen as to full process
- Oversee company vehicles - schedules, service, licensing & repairs.
- Provide guidance and support to Foremen, Storemen, Drivers & operational staff.
- Ensure effective communication between sites, suppliers, and head office.
- Respond promptly to site requests, assist with problem-solving and urgent requests.
- Promote compliance with company policies, operational procedures, & Health & Safety.
- Assist with admin & HR processes, documentation and staff-related requirements.
- Address operational challenges and conflcts in alignment with company policies.
- Conduct regular site visits to inspect and audit tools, equipment etc.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained in good working order.
- Source, negotiate, and procure materials and equipment for cost-effective purchasing.
- Maintain stock levels of regularly used materials/consumables for replenishment.
- Manage the storage, labelling, and distribution of valuable equipment and hardware
- Maintain accurate operational records, inventory data, and procurement documentation.
- Prepare and update operational reports as required by management.
- Complete admin accurately for logistics, procurement, stock control & warehouse.
- Support and enforce compliance with company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure all areas comply with relevant safety standards and regulations.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness, accountability, & operational excellence
