Configuration Support Engineer

Role Overview

Support and maintain configuration-management processes across the product lifecycle, ensuring engineering data, documentation, product structures and changes are accurately controlled and traceable.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain configuration-management processes and procedures.
• Control product configuration baselines throughout the product lifecycle.
• Administer engineering documentation, drawings, bills of materials and technical records.
• Coordinate engineering change requests and change orders.
• Complete configuration identification, status accounting, traceability and verification activities.
• Support configuration audits and reviews.
• Maintain product data in ERP, PLM and document-management systems.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Production, Supply Chain and Project teams.
• Generate configuration reports and metrics for management review.
• Ensure compliance with company standards, customer requirements and applicable regulatory frameworks.

Requirements

• National Diploma or bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Two to five years in configuration management, engineering support, technical documentation control or a related environment.
• Manufacturing experience and exposure to PLM, ERP or configuration-management systems are advantageous.
• Understanding of engineering drawings, BOM structures and product lifecycle management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and document-control systems.
• Familiarity with ISO, AS9100 or similar quality systems is advantageous.
