Campus Bursar

We are looking for a School Accountant to oversee the full financial function of a dynamic school campus in Centurion. This role is ideal for a mature finance professional, with strong accounting knowledge, advanced excel skills and the ability to work under pressure in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• 7–10 years’ experience in a similar finance role
• Strong bookkeeping / accounting knowledge

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the full finance function, including budgeting, reporting, and reconciliations
• Partner with the School Principal on budget control and expense management
• Drive annual OPEX and CAPEX budgeting processes
• Analyse monthly management accounts and report insights to leadership
• Oversee procurement, accounts payable, and financial compliance
• Manage debtors, collections, and ensure accurate billing submissions
• Monitor school budgets, events, and expenditure tracking
• Review payroll and support financial decision-making
• Ensure accurate and timely month-end reporting and journal submissions

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Strong financial acumen with advanced Excel skills (V-Lookup, Pivot tables, etc) 
• High attention to detail and strong organisational ability
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• A proactive, customer-focused approach
