Role Overview
Is this you?
A true new-business hunter, you spot openings others miss and have the persistence to turn cold prospects into trusted commercial relationships. You think strategically, listen closely and present technical ideas with confidence. Planning, analysis and disciplined follow-through come naturally, even when several opportunities are moving at once.
Responsibilities
What you'll be doing (and why you'll enjoy it)
Opening new accounts and expanding into key verticals will sit at the heart of your work. You’ll prospect, secure appointments, understand technical needs and shape tailored solutions for contractors, OEMs, industrial customers, distributors, consultants and specifiers. Alongside sales and technical colleagues, you’ll build specifications into tenders and projects, track market trends, report on performance and help develop growth strategies. The appeal is clear. Autonomy, variety and visible commercial impact.
Where you'll be doing it
Within an engineering and manufacturing organisation, technical excellence and quality guide work across industrial and commercial markets. Its South African operation combines international capability with a collaborative, supportive culture. You’ll work in a strategy-led environment where forward-looking projects and strong stakeholder partnerships matter.
Requirements
What you'll need
An N6 Technical Certificate is essential, while an Electrical or Electronic trade test would be an advantage. Bring at least three years’ sales or business development experience in an OEM, manufacturing, electrical wholesale or industrial setting, plus sound technical knowledge. Evidence of prospecting, opening new accounts and converting opportunities is important, as are Microsoft Office skills and clear stakeholder communication. Experience with consultants or specifiers strengthens your fit.
