Business Development Manager

Job Description

An established organisation is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager with a strong background in the wood/timber industry to play a key role in developing new markets and supporting its expansion into furniture manufacturing and broader wood-based product markets.

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially driven, hands-on professional who understands the wood industry and can turn market knowledge into real business opportunities. You will help identify new markets, develop customer relationships and contribute to building a new growth stream for the business.



What you'll do

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the wood, furniture and related markets.
  • Use your industry knowledge to identify potential products, customers and market opportunities.
  • Develop relationships with customers across furniture, office furniture, kitchen/cabinetry and related sectors.
  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline and convert opportunities into business.
  • Research market trends, customer needs and competitive activity.
  • Work closely with management to evaluate and develop new commercial opportunities.
  • Contribute to sustainable revenue growth through effective business development and customer engagement.
 

What you'll bring

  • Proven sales/business development experience within the wood, timber, furniture or closely related industry.
  • Strong understanding of the wood products market and its customer base.
  • Knowledge of furniture, cabinetry, kitchen, office furniture or related markets.
  • A proven track record in new business development and customer acquisition.
  • Strong commercial, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently.
  • Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport.
  • Willingness to travel when required.
