Business Analyst - Cloud and FinOps

Role Overview

Translate enterprise commercial objectives into actionable technical requirements for public and hybrid-cloud initiatives. Work across business engineering, financial management and cloud-native delivery to ensure cloud migrations, infrastructure modernisation and automation produce measurable business value.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyse and translate business requirements into technical user stories, functional blueprints and acceptance criteria.
• Formulate operational-impact assessments and process workflows for migration of legacy systems to cloud platforms.
• Build total-cost-of-ownership models, return-on-investment matrices and operational-cost forecasts with finance and engineering teams.
• Analyse legacy workflows and design target-state maps using cloud-native automation and digital workflows.
• Define reporting specifications with data analysts and engineers and verify that pipelines capture dashboard indicators.
• Manage and groom the cloud product backlog, lead story-sizing sessions and map feature dependencies.
• Work with compliance and security architects to document privacy boundaries and security guardrails.
• Design UAT frameworks, track defects, verify results against business logic and sign off cloud releases.
• Author release notes, end-user documentation and platform runbooks.
• Audit live cloud outcomes after deployment against the original business case and resource-efficiency goals.

Desired Experience and Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Information Technology, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering or analytical commercial discipline.
• At least five years' commercial experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst or Product Consultant in software or cloud infrastructure.
• Knowledge of public-cloud services, deployment structures and computing models.
• Experience in IT Consulting or Telecommunications is advantageous.
• Mastery of Agile and Scrum delivery, refinement sessions and feature tracking.
• Ability to map corporate states using BPMN, UML or data-flow architectures.
• Ability to write foundational SQL queries and validate transactional outputs.
• Familiarity with cloud-consumption tiers, FinOps and platform-cost optimisation.
• Exceptional presentation, analytical, diagnostic and critical-thinking skills.
