Northern Suburbs, Cape Town

An established hardware and timber business, supplying and processing timber and board products, is seeking an experienced Branch Manager / Assistant Branch Manager to manage its Northern Suburbs operation.

This is a hands-on management position overseeing retail, warehouse, production, stock, staff and customer order fulfilment. The successful candidate must be a strong people manager with practical operational experience and the ability to keep a busy branch running efficiently.

Salary: Market Related
Benefits: Provident Fund after 6 months

Key Responsibilities

Manage retail, warehouse and production teams.
Lead and manage a team of 20+ employees.
Plan daily production and ensure customer deadlines are achieved.
Oversee stock control, product quality and production records.
Manage warehouse operations and customer order dispatch.
Coordinate equipment maintenance and servicing.
Maintain OHS standards and good workplace housekeeping.
Coach, mentor and develop staff.
Handle general branch administration and operational management.
Form part of the broader management team.

Requirements

Grade 12 / Matric.
Minimum 5 years' Branch Management experience.
Proven experience managing 20+ staff.
Tertiary qualification advantageous.
Experience within the timber, woodworking, hardware, shopfitting, engineering, packaging, printing, metal or plastics environment advantageous.
Strong operational, leadership and people-management ability.
Good planning and problem-solving skills.
OHS knowledge.
Computer literate – MS Office.
Good English communication skills.

Working Hours
Monday–Friday: 08:00–17:00
Saturday: 08:00–13:00

This position will suit a practical, hands-on manager who enjoys operations, people management, customer service and getting results on the floor.
