Bookkeeper & Financial Assistant (Stock)

Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper & Financial Assistant (in-office) to support the Group Accountant with day-to-day accounting, stock control, and administrative tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing inventory, and ensuring efficient financial operations.

Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping
  • Capture and maintain accurate financial records up to trial balance
  • Process accounts payable and receivable
  • Perform bank reconciliations and cash up
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
Stock Management
  • Monitor and maintain accurate stock records
  • Perform regular stock reconciliations and variance analysis
  • Coordinate stock takes and investigate discrepancies
  • Work closely with operations to ensure stock accuracy and control
Assistant to Financial Manager
  • Provide day-to-day support to the Financial Manager
  • Prepare schedules and reports for audits or reviews
  • Handle ad hoc financial and administrative tasks
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes and controls
Requirements
  • Must reside in Somerset West, Strand, or Gordon’s Bay
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a bookkeeping or similar finance role
  • Minimum qualification: Financial certificate or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial processes
  • Experience with Pastel and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
