Bespoke Jewellery Designer & Project Coordinator

BESPOKE JEWELLERY DESIGNER & PROJECT COORDINATOR

Cape Town CBD | Full-Time | In-House
Do you speak fluent sparkle, understand the difference between a beautiful idea and a beautifully workable design, and know how to keep clients, suppliers and production timelines perfectly aligned?
An exciting opportunity exists for a creative, polished and highly organised Bespoke Jewellery Designer & Project Coordinator to guide custom jewellery pieces from the very first conversation through to the final reveal.
This role would suit someone who genuinely loves beautiful things, meaningful design, exceptional client experiences and the detail that goes into creating something completely unique.
Please note: This is not a Goldsmith or bench-jeweller position. The focus is on bespoke jewellery design, client consultation, production coordination and managing the complete customer journey.

The Role

You’ll wear several stylish hats — designer, client consultant, project coordinator and detail detective.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Consulting with clients to understand their ideas, personal style and requirements
  • Translating creative concepts into practical bespoke jewellery designs
  • Preparing concepts, sketches and design proposals
  • Guiding each bespoke project from initial brief through to final delivery
  • Liaising with suppliers, manufacturers and production partners
  • Coordinating quotations, materials, specifications and timelines
  • Monitoring production progress and addressing delays or complications
  • Keeping clients informed and engaged throughout their bespoke journey
  • Maintaining accurate client and project records
  • Ensuring completed pieces meet the required design and quality standards
  • Supporting the day-to-day operational requirements of a busy boutique jewellery environment

What We’re Looking For

  • Relevant experience in jewellery design, jewellery production or bespoke jewellery
  • Sound knowledge of precious metals, gemstones, jewellery manufacturing methods and production processes
  • Strong client consultation and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to take an emotional, sentimental or creative idea and turn it into a practical design brief
  • Excellent administration, organisation and follow-through
  • Ability to manage multiple bespoke projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Polished, professional and confident communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail — because “almost right” simply doesn’t work in fine jewellery
  • A proactive, hands-on approach
  • A genuine passion for bespoke jewellery, design and creating memorable client experiences

Added Sparkle

The following would be advantageous:
  • Jewellery sketching or CAD-design experience
  • Photography or content-creation skills
  • Social-media content experience
  • A strong eye for visual storytelling, styling and beautifully presenting completed pieces

Position Details

Employment: Full-time, office-based
Remuneration: Competitive salary aligned with experience
Additional earning potential: Commission on successful projects secured

What’s on Offer

  • The opportunity to work with meaningful, one-of-a-kind jewellery projects
  • A creative, collaborative and hands-on working environment
  • Direct involvement throughout the complete bespoke-design journey
  • The opportunity to build lasting client relationships
  • Scope to contribute creatively and grow with the business
  • Competitive remuneration plus commission potential
