Bathroom Homeware Buyer

Synopsis

A leading retailer is seeking an experienced Bathroom Homeware Buyer to develop customer-focused, trend-led ranges that drive sales and profitability. Relevant bathroom buying experience is essential.

Applicants must be based in Cape Town or willing to relocate

Key Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Develop and execute seasonal buying and product strategies.
2. Build commercially balanced product ranges aligned with customer needs and homeware trends.
3. Collaborate with Planning, Design, Sourcing and Technical teams on product development, supplier selection, costing and quality.
4. Use customer insights, competitor research and trading performance to inform buying decisions.
5. Manage product milestones from initial concept through to in-store execution.

Qualifications / Minimum Requirements

Desired Experience & Qualification

1. 4–6 years’ relevant buying experience, including bathroom homeware.
2. Relevant qualification in Merchandising, Textile Design, Product Development or a related field.
3. Strong knowledge of materials, fabrics and product development.
4. Strong commercial understanding of pricing, mark-ups, markdowns and sell-through.
5. Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and PLM systems.
6. Strong organisational, administrative and cross-functional collaboration skills.
