Role Overview

A growing audit and accounting practice in Bellville, Cape Town is seeking a technically strong External Audit Senior. The role suits someone who has completed SAICA Articles and has solid external-audit experience in practice.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute external-audit engagements from commencement through completion.
• Perform audit procedures under the approved methodology, including substantive and analytical procedures.
• Prepare and review audit working papers and supporting documentation.
• Identify and assess audit risks and determine appropriate procedures.
• Ensure engagements comply with International Standards on Auditing and relevant legislation.
• Assist with annual financial statements and review financial information for accuracy and completeness.
• Communicate findings and queries to clients and maintain strong client relationships.
• Supervise and review junior staff, provide feedback, monitor progress, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate audit files.
• Assist with technical accounting and audit matters and keep current with regulatory changes.

Requirements

• Completed SAICA Articles is essential.
• At least three years' external-audit experience.
• BCom Accounting or relevant bachelor's degree; Honours, CTA, or postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
• Strong external-audit, accounting, ISA, analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Experience managing multiple engagements and deadlines.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organisation, and time-management skills.
• Relevant audit and accounting software experience is advantageous.
• Must be based in Cape Town or willing to relocate.
