A well-established national firm, expanded into De Waterkant, is seeking a committed and empathetic Family Law Specialist to join their growing team.

This role plays a vital part in supporting clients through complex and often sensitive family matters, requiring a high level of professionalism, emotional intelligence, and care.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Relevant legal degree with 3–5 years of post-qualification experience
  • Solid experience gained within a law firm, including legal research and investigative work
  • Proficient in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex legal agreements and documents
  • Proven track record of success in a legal advisory or practitioner role
  • Strong expertise in conducting detailed legal research on complex matters
  • Demonstrated experience representing organisations in legal proceedings, negotiations, and mediations
  • Collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively across departments and teams
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage and maintain legal documentation and records
  • In-depth understanding of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards relevant to the role
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
DUTIES
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of complex legal documents, contracts, and agreements
  • Provide strategic legal advice and support to management and internal departments
  • Conduct in-depth legal research to inform business decisions and ensure legal compliance
  • Represent the company in legal proceedings, including court cases, negotiations, and mediations
  • Develop, implement, and monitor legal policies and compliance frameworks
  • Stay updated on changes in legislation and regulations, advising on their impact to the business
  • Conduct legal risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Supervise and mentor junior legal staff, offering guidance and oversight where required
  • Respond promptly to legal queries from various departments across the organisation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on the legal aspects of business projects and initiatives
  • Maintain accurate and organised legal documentation and records
  • Participate in ongoing legal training and professional development to stay abreast of industry trends
