Attendance / HR Assistant to Manager – Bellville

Do you have working knowledge of the leave cycle and sick leave processes when dealing with wages for a staff complement of approximately 100 employees?
 
For this position based in Bellville, we require your HR qualification, excellent written and spoken communication skills, and strong computer literacy, especially Excel.
 
This position entails managing daily attendance, sick leave, disciplinary records, and answering various staff related queries.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Grade 12 (Matric) + a HR qualification
  • Strong knowledge of SA Labour Law
  • Min 2-3 years' experience in a payroll, wage administration, HR administration, or time and attendance environment
  • Experience working with time and attendance systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of payroll processes, leave administration, and employee record management
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines and manage multiple priorities
DUTIES
  • Monitor and manage employee attendance, including absenteeism, late arrivals, early departures, leave verification, and attendance record maintenance
  • Administer sick leave processes, including validation, documentation, compliance monitoring, and escalation of exceptions
  • Maintain accurate payroll-related attendance data, report exceptions, validate hours, and support weekly payroll processing
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports and payslips
  • Coordinate employee onboarding, including documentation, system setup, personnel file creation, and HR updates
  • Maintain employee records, HR documentation, education records, and BEE information
  • Support disciplinary, counselling, and attendance-related investigations and processes
  • Compile and provide attendance statistics and HR-related reports to management
  • Process IOD claims, employee terminations, and related exit documentation
  • Administer bursary applications and ongoing bursary records
  • Provide general HR administrative support and respond to information requests as required
Salary: R negotiable dependent on experience
