Assistant Manager - Wine Tasting

Role Overview

A hands-on, customer-focused Assistant Manager is required to support the day-to-day operations of a busy Wine Tasting Room. The role focuses on customer service, wine sales, tastings, stock levels, and ensuring the Tasting Room is ready for daily trading.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests, deliver an excellent tasting-room experience, handle complaints, and encourage repeat business.
• Drive wine sales, present and sell wines, conduct tastings, and maintain high standards when pouring and presenting wine.
• Monitor wine used for tastings and maintain adequate stock.
• Conduct stock takes of wine, kitchen items, food, and ice; restock shelves and fridges.
• Open the Tasting Room, prepare the cash float, log into POS, check counter supplies, and prepare the premises for trading.
• Complete closing procedures, secure the premises, activate the alarm, and ensure kitchen and service areas are left safe.
• Maintain the kitchen roster, clean and organise fridges, monitor presentation, and check bathrooms.
• Follow company policies, procedures, and health and safety requirements.
• Assist the Manager, support the team during busy periods, and communicate operational issues.
• Work Monday to Sunday, generally 09:00 to 17:00, with one day off between Monday and Thursday and every second weekend off.
