Accountant (P8) - Student Finance
Role Overview
A university finance department is seeking an Accountant to manage student debtor records, reconciliations and financial reporting.
This position combines day-to-day delivery with accurate administration, timely follow-through and professional coordination with the people and teams who rely on the role.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to take ownership of the following areas:
- Maintain accurate student debtor, bursary and control-account records. Maintain clear records, communicate progress and escalate exceptions promptly where required.
- Calculate and review expected credit-loss provisions and ageing trends. Maintain clear records, communicate progress and escalate exceptions promptly where required.
- Coordinate audit support and prepare financial reporting information. Maintain clear records, communicate progress and escalate exceptions promptly where required.
- Investigate discrepancies and strengthen finance processes and controls. Maintain clear records, communicate progress and escalate exceptions promptly where required.
Requirements
Applicants should be able to demonstrate the following capabilities in a structured, deadline-driven working environment:
