Accountant

Location: Edenvale, Johannesburg

We are a growing accounting practice based near Edenvale, Johannesburg, looking to appoint an Accountant to support our business clients with their day-to-day accounting, payroll and statutory compliance requirements.

This role is suited to an accountant who is confident working independently on bookkeeping or payroll functions, with exposure to the broader accounting cycle and client accounting environments.

Qualifications, skills and experience required:

2 – 5 years’ in an accounting and payroll position
Accounting qualification (Degree/Diploma)
Ability to work independently
Good Excel and general computer skills
Experience with SARS eFiling, accounting systems and payroll systems
Exposure to CIPC processes will be advantageous

Key Responsibilities:

Bookkeeping & Accounting

Full bookkeeping to trial balance
Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
Debtors and creditors management
Preparation of monthly management accounts
VAT preparation and submissions
Handling SARS queries and registrations
Maintaining accurate financial records for multiple business clients

Payroll

End-to-end payroll processing (including bulk payrolls)
Leave administration and payroll reconciliations
EMP201 and EMP501 submissions
Handling SARS payroll queries
Payroll reporting and compliance support

Additional Exposure (Advantageous)

SARS eFiling administration
CIPC registrations and amendments
Supporting clients with general accounting and compliance matters
