Instructional Designer

We are seeking an experienced and creative Instructional Designer to join a dynamic learning and development environment on a 12-month contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining engaging digital learning content that enhances learner experience and supports organisational learning objectives within a complex operational environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong instructional design expertise, hands-on experience with content authoring tools, and a passion for creating innovative digital learning solutions. Experience within industrial, engineering, manufacturing, mining, energy or similar operational environments will be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop engaging eLearning content, digital learning experiences and training materials.
  • Apply instructional design methodologies, including ADDIE, to develop effective learning interventions.
  • Create interactive learning modules using Articulate 360 (Storyline & Rise) and other content development tools.
  • Work with Learning Management Systems (LMS) to upload, maintain and manage digital learning content.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand technical learning requirements and translate them into effective digital learning solutions.
  • Ensure all learning content meets quality assurance standards and organisational requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement of learning materials through feedback and learner insights.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines while ensuring high-quality delivery.
  • Collaborate effectively across teams to deliver impactful and engaging learning experiences.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in instructional design, digital learning or content design.
  • Background in Instructional Design and digital learning methodologies.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Strong experience in content development software.
  • Knowledge and practical application of ADDIE / learning processes.
  • Experience in quality assurance of learning content.
  • Exposure to learning technologies and digital training solutions.
  • Experience in industrial, engineering, manufacturing, mining, petrochemical, energy or similarly technical environments will be advantageous.

Technical Requirements

  • Advanced experience with Articulate 360 – Storyline & Rise.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and MS Projects).
